Javon Jeter is an artist from Asheville, NC, and is currently based in Charlotte. Initially, he focused on creating cartoon caricatures but later transitioned to producing more thought-provoking pieces that revolve around family and youth experiences. Despite primarily working digitally, he has also been commissioned for murals, home decor, and apparel designs, and has had his work featured in galleries.

The shift into a more conscious space of creating happened when he was about to become a father. He made a series showcasing authenticity, vulnerability, and tenderness within black parenthood. Since that “awakening”, his work has continued to reflect these qualities, telling stories of everyday life experiences.

He uses an illustrative style that embodies the spirit of the youth, blending it with beautiful, authentic concepts that are relatable. Faceless subjects, expressive body language, and loose strokes are symbolic of his style.
